European ESG Template

The Case

An asset management firm required the creation of a European ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) Template (EET) and the future automatic production of the report to be established.

The EET is a standardised template that harmonises the way ESG-related data on financial products is exchanged and supports compliance with regulatory requirements. The data template makes it possible for providers of funds and structured products to satisfy their reporting requirements under the European Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and at the same time helps distributors and advisers to implement the regulatory requirements applicable to them.

Our Approach

We analysed and documented the regulatory requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of the compliance landscape. This was followed by effective liaison with the regulatory team, which facilitated the translation of the complex regulations into clear technical and business requirements. The conversion of these requirements into a technical document was a critical step that bridged the gap between regulatory expectations and actions for the technical development team.

We then communicated with the technical team enabling the design, build, and implementation of a robust technical solution that met the regulatory standards.

Concurrently, engagement with the business teams provided insights into the data sources, which was instrumental in shaping the templates for reporting.

Analysis skills were further used to design and build an agreed operating model, which was both efficient and compliant.

Rigorous testing of the report build ensured reliability and accuracy, while updates for regulatory releases were managed proactively to maintain compliance.

The End Result

The smooth handover of the report process to the production team and walk through/training of junior analysts so that they could manage future changes marked the successful completion of the project, showcasing commitment to excellence and end-to-end execution.
